Making An Impact In The Lowcountry

Greater Island Council Action Committees

The GIC Action Committees are the principal vehicles through which the GIC identifies key issues, focuses on potential improvements and encourages constructive changes. These committees – each with a specific area of concern – explore issues of importance to the community and take steps to encourage sound policies and constructive actions. The committees invest time and resources and stimulate broader community awareness, often consulting with appropriate public and private officials to secure their input and enlist their support.

Membership on a committee is an excellent way to get involved and make a real contribution to the quality of life in our community. Whether or not you are a member of GIC, there are openings on committees which may fit your interests.  Some of the committees are new or reviewing their Mission, Goals & Strategies. Committee information will be updated here as the committees move forward.
